Bach Flowers For Animals: Spotlight On Larch

I am a certified Bach Flower Therapist and I have been using the Bach Flowers with my animal clients for the last 8 years and I love them!

In my recent post Spotlight on Rescue Remedy, and Honeysuckle, I talked about what each of these Bach Flowers do and how they help your pet.

My free booklet… “25 Bach Flowers for a Happier Healthier Pet”:

I have written a booklet “25 Bach Flowers for a Happier Healthier Pet”
It is easy enough to download and it is extremely useful to have.
It’s filled with 25 essences and some combinations that I have found extremely.
To download it, simply click on the link to go to the page on my site, “Bach Flower Book Download“Then, fill out the form, and your will then receive an email with a link to download the book.

What are Bach Flowers?
They are a series of 38 essences made up of a variety of plants and trees.
Dr. Edward Bach called them the “Happy fellows of the plant world” and started working with them in 1931. He discovered that each of the 38 Essences from well known and common trees, flowers and even pure water from springs. Could alleviate and help to lift the negative blockages which he believed shows themselves in negative emotions, and behavior (he called then potentials) which come about from one living one’s daily life. This could included traumatic situations that might have happened in our pasts that, because the blockages may still be there are showing themselves today is negative emotions and behaviors. Essential the the way it works is like this Bach believed that “Like vibrations cures, like emotions”. Energy is in every single thing on the earth, and we are all energy vibrating a different levels and speeds. The essences are also vibrating at the same speed as the the blockages that are able to heal. When taken the essence opens up the blockage(s) so that the being is then able to hear their voice of their higher self (also called soul, Source, Universe God) bringing BACK the feeling of well-being and thus positive emotions with it.

The Spotlight on Larch…

For me personally Larch is a Bach Flower that is near and dear to my heart.
This was the first Bach Flower I ever took. It is the one that gave me the confidence that I needed when I started my professional career. To say this Bach Flower opened the door so that I could find my bliss is putting it mildly.

Larch is the remedy that Dr. Edward Bach called “The Self-Confidence Flower”. He discovered that this particular flower deals with the souls ability for
self-confidence and self-esteem.

I often give this Bach Flower for either a short-term situation, such as: shortly before a show or competition. To a long-term situation such as: getting over rescue, adoption or shelter situations. Now self-confidence and self-esteem issues are not always easily recognizable in animals but below are some example, which might help you to decide if Larch is right for your animal friends.

What are some common Larch uses?

•Adopting and animal that has been in a shelter for either a long or short period of time. Even thought the shelter may have been wonderful, it is the uncertainty from day to day, of “Will this be the day I find my home?” That can be hard on the self-esteem.

•As a show or competition draws nearer, your animal friend seems slightly unsure of themselves

•After a show or competition, your animal friend “seems a little down”. This could be your animal friend just getting the vibes/thoughts from others, that they did not achieve what was wanted. What happens instead of the animal having the feeling “Well, better luck next time!” They begin to feel a little down on themselves. Holding the head down, looking ashamed, worried or concerned, holding the tail between legs, are all possible indications.

•In their new home situation the animal seems “unsure” of their new surroundings. Hiding under beds, in closets, keeping to the back of the stall, etc. These could be a signs they are lacking the confidence and assuredness that they will eventually become capable of getting used to their new home.

•Your animal friend has come from a rescue or abusive situation. In both cases, depending on the severity the animal’s self-confidence and self-esteem could be low.

•Training seems particularly difficult for your animal pal. They seem to get discouraged easily and not adapting to the new techniques easily. This Bach Flower Combined with Chestnut bud could help with that.

•Animals that are constantly being constantly dominated by the other animals in the household. Now, with animals yes, there is a “pecking order” or hierarchy. However an animal will sometimes become too dominated, to the point where it s as if their position in the hierarchy does not count. Even in a pack, a herd, a family, each individual’s ideas and thoughts come together and are acknowledged. But the animal that requires Larch does not seem to even try to bring their personality or ideas to the “table” because they feel “less than”.

•The animal does not seem to participate in “family activities”. They hold themselves apart and stay on the outskirts, when the other animals in the household are playing.

These are to name only a few.
Tip: Consulting your Animal Communicator to verify that these are the problems is also a good idea!

How do I give Bach Flowers to my animal friend(s)?

Normally putting the drops in the animals water works very well, and if this is a multiple animal household don’t worry, the Bach Flower will not do anything to the other animals, unless they need it.  For small animals (cats, dogs) I give 2-3 drops in their water and put new drops in whenever I change the water. For bigger animals (Horses, Cows, Llamas, etc) anywhere from 5-8 drops on a slice of bread or a few apple slices should do the trick.

Remember to give the Bach Flowers to your animal only when they are showing signs of the negative behavior or emotions.

If you do not notice even the SLIGHTEST of changes after a 24-72 hour period then it might mean your friend will need to try another Bach Flower.

I have many of the Bach flower remedies and I have used them on and off for years. I haven’t really used them with my cats though except for Rescue Remedy. I also use flower essences from Perelandra LTD which are fabulous!

Hi Carolin, Oh yes, animals are really respective to them. Animals know instinctively that healing powers of natural things. They don’t have to be so convinced as we humans sometimes have to be. There are even some Bach Flowers that have been known the help plants. I have had amazing results with animals with the Bach Flowers as well as combos of using Reiki, TTOUCh along with the Bach Flowers as well. Thanks so much for your comment and for dropping by.

Hi Lorraine! Thanks for the comment. I also used them first on myself and then started to study the use of the essences on animals. Just like you I started using Rescue Remedy with my animals and then 1 of the clinics I worked in used to use it for the emergency cases that came in. That is when I stared really seeing what these powerful essences can do in action. They animals are so opened and so intuitively knowing that these will help them that that mindset along with the Bach Flowers are truly powerful combination. Thanks for stopping by!
