This incident happened to me a few years ago when I was living in Manhattan.

I had just finished my morning prayers finishing off with saying:

“I will be open to all the animals and learn from them whenever I can”

Suddenly I hear a voice pipe into my head.

“Why is it that humans don’t believe they can hear us?

That we communicate just like you do?”

The voice went on to say

“If you met a person from another country, and didn’t speak each other’s language, you know that some way you would still be able to communicate in a way that you could both understand each other.”

“But”, the voice said “to many humans the very thought that animals can speak to you or vise versa is thought of as crazy, or WORSE constantly questioned”

I said, “I can’t speak for other humans, but I believe that I can communicate with you”

Then voice asked “If that is so, then why did you just say in your prayers, you WILL be open to animals?” the voice continued, “ If you truly know that you are communicating with us then you shouldn’t have to say that you WILL be open”

I thought about if for a while and realized that the voice was correct. I thought I was humble in my prayers with saying, “will” but in reality saying “I will” is not NOW, it is not DOING, it is THINKING about doing something! I AM always open to the animals, I don’t need to say I will be …I AM. That really blew my mind, I never ever thought about it that way.

I thought that it might have been my cat Socrates who was sitting in the room with me,  who had given me the verbal scruffing, but when I asked him he said “No”. Then I realized that it was coming from a Mockingbird that was singing on the rooftop of the opposite building. I thanked him and I still am thanking him

I’ve said I AM ever since.

    Good Morning,
You know, I know I have read this article before, but just yesterday I got this in my email and read it. Not knowing I read it before..Ok yes that seems like I’m writing in circles, but it meant something to me this time… So it was sent for a reason again.
So many things have happened to me this year, all positive, but yet sometimes I forget that I AM doing things that I never thought I could ever do. I say I Will, like you or I’ll try and that puts a negitive spin on what I’m are doing. I really never thought of that before, but if you say I AM you do it without any hesitation. The I Will or I’ll try seem to put a block in front of you without you knowing it. So, thanks for reminding me to say I AM. friends always connie

    Hello Connie,
You are most welcome! I too never realized the difference is those 2 small words. The communication that I got from the Mockingbird was indeed a huge gift and now I am so glad that I can share it.
